Sul|tam [Kurzw. aus ↑ Sulfonsäure u. ↑ Lactam], das; -s, -e: Sammelbez. u. Funktionsbez. (-sultam) für cycl. Schwefel-Stickstoff-Verb., die als intramol. Amide von Sulfonsäuren mit dem Ringglied —S(O)2—NH— aufzufassen sind, z. B. Butano-1,4-sultam. Tautomere S. mit dem Glied —(OH)S(O)=N— werden Sultime genannt (Analogiebildung zu ↑ Lactim).
